“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
(Matthew 11:28-30 The Message Bible)
As we are in the sixth day of our fast I know (for a fact) that some of you are finding that it is getting easier, and yet some are probably chewing on the furniture, or at least driving by the local fast food place to take a sniff of the aroma’s. Pastor Jerry’s email this morning encourages us to know and understand that God is our strength. The above scripture asks some questions. Number one. Are you tired, worn out, burned out? During the last six days I have felt all of those, and the reason I believe that happens is that we focus on how we feel, what we think, or I’m hungry, I missed my favorite program, or maybe I’m missing my “Hot Now” Krispy Kreme. Jesus has the only solution to this situation, he says to “come away with Him” focus your intentions on Him, find out His purposes and His ways. Then He says something I believe is so profound, “Learn the Unforced Rhythms of Grace” What does that mean? Many times we take on burdons that are not ours, responsibilities that are not ours, and we find ourselves trying to “put a square peg in a round whole” How hard is that? When we walk in the Unforced Rhythms of Grace” we move as Jesus’ moves, we speak as Jesus’ speaks, we dance the dance and alow Him to lead. I’m so grateful that God has chosen this time for us Break the Resistance, If you are look forward to the end you’ve missed it, if you are enjoying the dance you are right where God wants you.
