Where is your line?
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution of famine, or nakedness, or peril or sword?”
In 1991 President George H. W. Bush drew a “line in the sand” and whether we agreed with that or not he made a decision this far but no more. What is the breaking point what things separate us from God, if something happens in my life, say some great tragedy, would that separate me from God? Or maybe it’s that thing we desire so much that it’s the thing I want or God. What thing is it that will cause a rift and God stands His ground but we depart? It doesn’t have to be that we do, even our thoughts can show a separation from God we are tempted to think that God is trying to kill us or waiting in a corner with a baseball bat. What is the line that that will cause us not to love God. No matter how we are tempted to leave God He says that nothing we do will cause Him not to love us and that love is in what Jesus did for us. He crossed the line of our sins, the line of our rejection, the line of our indifference. He says that neither life nor death, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, that love is in Christ Jesus. God Bless you.
Garbage In Garbage Out
“Do not ye yet understand, that whatsoever entereth in at the mouth goeth into the belly, and is cast out into the draught. But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man. For out of the heart proceed evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies:” (Matthew 15:17-19)
Jesus was explaining to his disciples that it is not what they eat the makes the the person unclean, but he continues and says what makes a person unclean is what comes out of his mouth. Why? Continue reading “Garbage In Garbage Out” »
Silence Speaks Volumes
In the book of Genesis God spoke the world into existence, with the sound of His voice He made the universe the planets, all the animals, and not to mention through out recorded human history God spoke through prophets, kings, and priest. What am I saying? God has never been shy about speaking his mind. In all that God has said, what happens when God chooses to remain silent? In Psalms 13 David asked “How long will you forget me, O Lord? Forever? Continue reading “Silence Speaks Volumes” »
Hunger
“As the deer panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee O God” Psalm 42:1
I believe that within every person there is a desire to know the creator. The question is what is if that desire drives us to seek Him in times of trouble and heartache. Will we stand on what he has said even when our enemies deny His existence and mock us when we refuse to. The Psalmist says to hope in God, that is the key.
